The division plans, organizes, stages and maintains exhibitions on all disciplines covered by the National Museum in coordination with other divisions concerned.
Group Visit Information
1. The National Museum requires that a reservation be made either in
writing or by telephone, preferably a week or at least a day in advance,
through the office of Mrs. Elenita D.V. Alba, Curator II, Museum Education
Division at Room 210, Tel. 5270213.
2. The National Museum may be constrained to cancel without prior notice
any reservation when problems occur such as brown-outs or rallies within
the vicinity of the building.
3. The National Museum may accommodate as many students as possible
at one time from one school, provided that prior arrangement or representation
is made with the Museum Education Division.
4. The National Museum shall furnish available information/or brochures
on the museum to enable the teachers to acquaint the students about the
museum exhibition.
5. At least one hour should be allotted to the museum visit. The group
must arrive at the museum not later than 11:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. Museum
hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., daily, from Tuesday to Sunday.
6. Teachers and parents or tour guide accompanying their respective
classes are requested to maintain discipline and proper decorum among their
students.
7. The teachers/students who wish to buy souvenir items may be allowed
inside the National Museum Souvenir Shop located at the 3rd Floor lobby.
Rules To Be Observed During The
Museum Tour
1. The visiting school group should enter through the main lobbly of
the museum on Padre Burgos St., and a representative should register at
the reception desk, indicating the name of the school, complete address,
school head's name, and number of students/teachers in the group.
2. The students are requested to form two lines during the entire museum
tour.
3. Silence must be observed in the galleries and along the corridors.
4. Photographing museum objects may be allowed only with the written
permission obtained from the Museum Education Division, Room 210.
5. Smoking and eating are strictly prohibited inside the exhibition
galleries, corridors and lobbies.
6. Leaning on the glass must be avoided.
7. Big bags, packages or boxes should preferably be left in the buses
or deposited at the check-in counter on the right side of the main lobby
with the guard.
8. Students are allowed to take one or two objects for souvenir photographs
and not for commercial purposes.
